We are so pleased that you would like to make a reservation to start your life as husband and wife or renew your vows at the Hitching Post. Here is what you need to know about reserving your wedding day. You may also make your reservation, by filling out the form below. We will contact you by email or phone with a confirmation of the time during business hours.
Marriage Licence needs to be from the state your ceremony is to be performed. All weddings done at The Hitching Post are only performed by our ministers.
****There is a $50 non-refundable deposit for Saturdays, all Holidays and other specialty days such as 2-2-22 or 2-22-22 etc. If you aren't sure about your preferred date, feel free to give us a call to confirm.****

- Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm
- Saturdays: 10 am – 3 pm, Summer Hours 9am – 5pm
- Walk-ins are welcome, however, appointments are recommended.
- Holidays, except Christmas and Easter, after hours, Sundays – fees vary slightly - Christmas and Easter fees are higher-call for a price quote.
- Cancellations are subject to a $50.00 cancellation fee.

Marriage License Information
When being married during regular business hours, bring your Idaho marriage license with you to your wedding ceremony. Court House Website. (The Kootenai County Courthouse Marriage License Office is CLOSED on Saturdays. Marriage Licenses must be obtained by the last business day before 5pm)

Hitching Post Wedding Policy

Weddings Scheduled for After Hours, Sundays, Holidays, and other Special Days:
For weddings performed in the Hitching Post facilities after hours, on Sundays, or holidays, please provide us with a date and approximate time you wish to be married and we will set a time as close to that as possible. We will also need your Idaho marriage license into our office before close of business--the last business day prior to your wedding.
Marriage License Information
For weddings scheduled for Sundays, Holidays and after hours your Marriage License is needed in our office anytime before close of business day prior to your wedding. (The Kootenai Courthouse Marriage License Office will be CLOSED on Saturday's. Marriage Licenses must be obtained by the prior Friday, before 5:00pm)

**There is a $50 On Time fee for location weddings which is refunded if the ceremony starts within 15 minutes of the scheduled wedding time.
Marriage License Information
For weddings, at off-site locations, your marriage license needs to be in our office prior to the end of the last business day, before your wedding. (The Kootenai Courthouse Marriage License Office is CLOSED on Saturdays. Marriage Licenses must be obtained by the last business day before 5:00 pm)
Reservation/Cancellation Policy
A deposit of 50% needs to be paid within two weeks of scheduling a location wedding with the balance to be on or before the wedding date. Cancellation must be made at least 2 weeks prior to the wedding for a full refund otherwise it is forfeited.
Cancellations are subject to a $50.00 cancellation fee.
